Bonnet Cleaning
The disadvantage of this method is the so-called surface cleaning only. This means that the carpet fibres inside will not be properly cleaned and the dirt will remain inside while the top layer may seem clean. The machine used in bonnet cleaning is heavy duty with a spinning pad. It is immersed with the cleaning detergent in order to absorb the dirt located on the surface.
This method is usually used in hotels as a quick solution in areas of high traffic. Since it uses less moisture, the carpet dries quickly and prevents inconvenience. However, cleaning only on the surface is not a long-term solution and the carpet should be cleaned again soon. Additionally, as the time pass, carpets that are bonneted regularly, start to accumulate chemicals from the spinning pad of the machine that uses them to clean.
Dry Carpet Cleaning
Also known as compound cleaning, this method spreads cleaning solution or powder to the carpet’s bottom layers using a rotating brush machine. Usually, a biodegradable material is used to prevent health hazards.
All these methods have their pros and cons, but the steam carpet cleaning has become the most popular of them because of the obvious advantages it offers.
