Which Carpet Cleaning Service is the Best?

When it comes to carpet cleaning at your home, there are so many different options that sometimes it is had to choose the right one. Since not all available carpet cleaning methods work equally well and may not be appropriate for your carpet type, it is important to find out more information about each cleaning method. Let’s consider them below:

Steam Carpet Cleaning

Also known as hot water extraction, this cleaning type uses high pressure of hot water to penetrate deep into the fibres and to agitate them. It efficiently dissolves the dirt with the help of a cleaning agent. A special cleaning equipment is then used to wash the carpet rinsing the cleaning agent. The suction machine extracts the loosen dirt along with the excessive moisture. After that the carpet is just left for several hours in the room to dry completely.

If you are searching for commercial steam carpet cleaning, it is recommended to clean the carpets in the late afternoon, so they could be ready for use in the next morning.

Shampoo Carpet Cleaning

Before invention of the encapsulation technology, this was the most popular method till 1970s. While shampoo carpet cleaning is intended to clean very dirty carpets, the residue that is left behind is really big. Additionally, it takes a long time for the carpet to dry after cleaning and if the shampoo is not properly rinsed, the fibres stick to each other. Another disadvantage of this method is that the carpet quickly accumulates new dirt and needs regular cleaning.

Encapsulation

This carpet cleaning method is done with synthetic detergents that crystallize and turn to powder. The goal is that the powder encapsulates the loosen dirt particles. They are then either brushed or vacuumed to clean the foam that is now turned into a powder.

Since the residue does not contain as many chemicals as in the shampoo carpet cleaning, this method is more preferred when choosing between the last two. The drawback is that the method is not efficient enough for heavily soiled carpets.

Bonnet Cleaning

The disadvantage of this method is the so-called surface cleaning only. This means that the carpet fibres inside will not be properly cleaned and the dirt will remain inside while the top layer may seem clean. The machine used in bonnet cleaning is heavy duty with a spinning pad. It is immersed with the cleaning detergent in order to absorb the dirt located on the surface.

This method is usually used in hotels as a quick solution in areas of high traffic. Since it uses less moisture, the carpet dries quickly and prevents inconvenience. However, cleaning only on the surface is not a long-term solution and the carpet should be cleaned again soon. Additionally, as the time pass, carpets that are bonneted regularly, start to accumulate chemicals from the spinning pad of the machine that uses them to clean.

Dry Carpet Cleaning

Also known as compound cleaning, this method spreads cleaning solution or powder to the carpet’s bottom layers using a rotating brush machine. Usually, a biodegradable material is used to prevent health hazards.

All these methods have their pros and cons, but the steam carpet cleaning has become the most popular of them because of the obvious advantages it offers.
